Experience the Selketal valley

The Selketal valley is one of the most charming regions in the Harz mountains. The river Selke meanders through the valley, running past ancient castles, cliffs and rocks, marvellous woodlands and meadows. Hikers particularly appreciate the tranquility of the region and enjoy watching the flora and fauna. The best-preserved castle of the Harz Region, "Falkenstein Castle", is easily accessible by foot from the hostel.

In the area around the town of Meisdorf, you’ll also find many other fascinating historical places here along the "The Romanesque Road." The Meisdorf farm Museum is a particular gem. Pieces of agricultural equipment from different centuries are on display here.
